RTA to give Dh150,000 in Public Transport Day competitions
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is all set to mark the 9th Public Transport Day with competitions offering prizes worth Dh150,000, an official said on Sunday.
RTA’s event will be marked by a variety of activities, to be run in collaboration with various private entities.
“Five public transport riders including one person of determination will be selected as winners of prizes amounting to Dh100,000. Five other public transport riders from among RTA employees will be selected as winners of prizes amounting to Dh50,000,” said Ahmad Behroozian, CEO of RTA’s Public Transport Agency and Chairman of the Organising Committee of RTA’s Public Transport Day events.
RTA said that using public transport means during the lead-up to the campaign starting on October 22 until the Public Transport Day on November 1, will earn triple the Loyalty Points on nol Plus.
“The event will involve the mobility of the largest possible number of multinational riders, comprising the most nationalities, at Etisalat Metro Station; with the aim of breaking a Guinness World Record. Such an event will encourage the public to use mass transit means,” Behroozian added.
University students using public transport can take a one-minute video footage and send it to RTA’s social media channels for another competition. The challenge will start on October 22 and winners will be announced on Public Transport.
