Dubai Metro service between Dubai Multi Commodities Centre and Ibn Battuta reopens
Dubai Metro’s Red Line between Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC station 37) and Ibn Battuta (station 39) re-opened on Friday after being closed since January 5 as part of Route 2020 Project requirements.
Nakheel Harbour and Tower stations along with the adjoining multi-storey carpark remains closed until further notice but the metro will at least travel through these stations without stopping.
Commuters had been having to take a free alternative shuttle bus between the two stations up until this point.
“RTA makes every effort to ensure the smooth running of public transit services constantly and seamlessly,” said Mohammed Yousef Al Mudharreb, Director of Rail Operations at RTA’s Rail Agency.
“RTA was keen to provide free shuttle buses between DMCC and Ibn Battuta Stations throughout the closure of the two metro stations to ensure the smooth mobility of riders and to avoid inconveniencing them with construction works underway between the two stations. The step echoes RTA’s vision for providing safe and smooth transport for all,” said Al Mudharreb.
