Abu Dhabi Airports Company And DFS Draw Prize For "Hand In Hand For Haiti" Initiative
Proceeds from draw to be donated to fund building a world-class educational facility in Haiti
Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) and DFS - the world’s leading Duty Free luxury retailer – have drawn the winner of the Volkswagen Tiguan as part of the ADAC’s ‘Hand in Hand for Haiti’ programme, which was launched earlier this year. This initiative complements ADAC and DFS Abu Dhabi’s donation programme for 2012 in support of various local, regional and international charity funds.
Won by Mr. Rashed Al Mahri, the raffle draw was held at Terminal 1 in Abu Dhabi International Airport following 5,000 tickets being sold to passengers for a chance to win the grand prize. All proceeds are being donated to the children’s school in Haiti through the “Hand in Hand for Haiti” Foundation, which was developed in response to the humanitarian crisis following the catastrophic earthquake that hit Haiti in January 2010.
The raffle draw was attended by Dan Cappell, Senior Vice President Commercial of ADAC, and Glen Morgan, Vice President DFS Abu Dhabi. Dan Cappell of ADAC commented: “ADAC and DFS are proud to support this Foundation and to be part of building a world-class educational facility in Haiti. This demonstrates ADAC’s commitment in partnership with DFS towards global corporate social responsibility and the company aims to continue with such initiatives with other charity organizations locally and around the world.”
Alongside the ‘Hand in Hand for Haiti’ draw, ADAC and DFS Abu Dhabi have put together a raffle draw programme throughout 2012 that will benefit different charitable organizations locally and internationally.
